My book is officially one week old!

I have a copy sitting next to my laptop, and every once in a while I pick it up, gaze at the cover, and marvel to my husband, “Isn’t it amazing: it looks just like a real book!” to which he responds – with increasing impatience – “That’s because it IS a real book!”

But somehow it hasn’t quite sunk in; it feels surreal to have written a book that people are actually purchasing, reading, and talking about.

When I sent this little purple book out into the big, wide world, my prayer was that the story would deeply resonate with people, whispering encouragement and rekindling in each reader a sense of empowerment and hope. I suppose that’s probably true for many authors – otherwise, there’s not much point in sharing the story. Still, being a novice I had no idea what to expect, no inkling as to whether my story would actually be of interest to people who aren’t related to me and therefore obligated to care.

It has been amazing to begin to interact with people who have read the story, and to hear what they’re saying about it. Here are a few of their comments:
