Nicole is the founder of unschoolers.org, where she blogs about the educational philosophy known as unschooling and shares stories of her family’s journey from traditional education to unschooling.
Nicole has worked with children for over 25 years in many capacities. She spent 10 years in public education, both as a special educator and as a classroom teacher before becoming a full-time unschooling mom to 4 children. She has taught classes out of her home for local unschoolers and teaches online classes through her website ucurriculum.com.
Nicole has authored several children’s books and a memoir that chronicles her parenting journey.
Nicole has been a featured speaker at conferences including New Hampshire’s Head Start State Parent Advisory Council and the Life Rocks Unschooling Conference. She has also had the pleasure of giving interviews about parenting and educational philosophy for websites and podcasts.
Nicole provides education consulting services, helping parents to make choices that are best for their children and supporting them as they make transitions. She also works with educational organizations to help them better understand and serve the unschooling community.
